What Lifts Your Lydd?
Year 6 Art Project - June 2020
The vision behind this art installation was to create a collaborative piece of art by the children that were soon to leave Lydd Primary School and enter their journey into Year 7.
Furthermore, the idea was to create a piece of art work that could also be enjoyed by the important community of Lydd.
The inspiration came from a conversation with one of the returning Year 6 pupils. The pupil expressed how lucky he was to be in the year group the Government had chosen to return to school. The children as a group spoke of their happiness at being back to school, feeling uplifted and the returning made life seen somewhat normal again.
We had much discussion since Lydd pupils had been back to school that was focused on what makes us happy in life, being thankful of what we have and the positivity of what we have to look forward to.
These unprecedented times have made us thankful for the good things and simple pleasures.
These thoughts were paired with the work of Kelsey Montague a mural artist from The USA.
The theme of "What Lifts Your Lydd 2020?” was launched.
