GB athlete visits Lydd Primary
Souleyman Bah who is an, 18 year old, up and coming athlete for the Great Britain Paralympic Team visited Lydd Primary on Friday 5th October.
During his visit we had an assembly to talk about achievements, goals, inspirations and struggles that he has faced during his sporting journey so far, including his failing eyesight as he has been growing up. Read his story at www.soulbah.com.
After the very informative assembly, each class then went to take part in a 30 minute sports session with Soul. These active sessions included:
- FITNESS CIRCUIT: Running / Star Jumps / Press Ups / Squat Jumps
- HEALTHY LIVING WORKSHOP: Learning about the importance of a balanced diet and lifestyle
- GROWTH MINDSET WORKSHOP: Learning how to be resilient, never giving up and keep on going!
- ATHLETE Q & A SESSION: A chance for pupils to ask any questions they had and get some amazing pictures!
As many of you know our pupils were encouraged to fundraise to help towards the #GIVINGBACK programme which not only helps our GB Athletes but also raises funds to spend towards PE equipment for our school.
So far we have raised an amazing £840, 75% of which is awarded to the school.
WELL DONE EVERYONE!!!!
