  • Wednesday 21 April 2021 Number Day 2021 Dress Up for Digits We are taking part in the NSPCC Number Day on Friday 7th May 2021. We would like to invite the children to come wearing an item of clothing with a number on it (or something linked to Maths) in return for a 50p donation to help raise funds to keep children safe. On the day, the classes will enjoy lots of fun Maths games and activities! We’re really looking forward to it!

  • Monday 11 January 2021 Bikeability Bikeability will take from Monday 11th – Monday 25th January 2021 inclusive.  This will be for Year 6 as they missed out last year due to the school year ending early.
  • Wednesday 6 January 2021 Home Learning As I am sure most of you are aware, whilst the school is partially closed, class teachers will continue to communicate with your child and set work via Tapestry and Purple Mash.

  • Friday 11 December 2020 Christmas Party/Activity Afternoon On the afternoon of December 11th each class (Rec – Y6) will have a Christmas party/activity/games afternoon. Nursery staff will be in touch with you about their party arrangements too.
  • Tuesday 8 December 2020 Christmas Cards I am currently hearing lots of debate from other schools about whether or not Christmas cards should be allowed in the current climate. We all believe that Christmas cards are a really important traditional way to share the Christmas message, and …...…. they encourage pupils to write for a real reason!  Therefore we have sought a way to make this happen. If your child would like to give out Christmas cards please ensure that they are brought in by the 8th December.
  • Friday 4 December 2020 Mother and Child - an exploration through colour An advent art exhibition to celebrate the creative works of the pupils of Lydd Primary School.
  • Tuesday 1 December 2020 Christmas Trees Thanks to the generosity of local businesses South-East Waste & Property Maintenance and Addison Construction & Civils Ltd we have 4 real Christmas trees coming to our school!
  • Tuesday 1 December 2020 Alternative School Productions With the current limitations on singing/groups/loud chanting etc. this was a challenge! But we think we have overcome this and look forward to bringing you Lydd’s ‘Christmas around the World’ grand tour throughout December.
  • Monday 30 November 2020 Advent and Decoration Afternoon During the week Mon 30th Nov – Fri 4th December all classes will have a decoration afternoon. Sadly we will not be able to open the doors to you all to join in as we usually would, but your child will still make a special decoration and bring it home to share with you. Mrs Hardy’s very exciting Art Project ‘Mother and Child’ also completes this week and we will be sharing more about how you can see the amazing work for this which will go on to be displayed in the church during the lead up to Christmas.

  • Wednesday 11 November 2020 Remembrance Day In 2020 we pay tribute to the men and women of the Second World War generation, and to those of today’s, who have served and sacrificed to defend our nation. We remember the collaboration of the Commonwealth and Allied nations who stood shoulder to shoulder then to secure our freedom and the communities coming together today to protect us all.
