School Meals

As you are probably aware since September 2014 Universal School Meals were made available for every child in Foundation Stage, Year 1 and up until your child leaves Year 2.

Children in Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 are entitled to receive Free School Meals if their parents are in receipt of any of the following benefits:

Universal credit (with an annual net earned income of no more than £7400), Income support, Income based Job Seekers allowance, Guaranteed element of pension credit, Child tax credit (without working tax credit), Employment and Support Allowance, Support under part VI of the immigration & Asylum act 1999.

Even though a school meal is offered automatically without a cost to parents from Foundation to Year 2 inclusive, it is extremely important to sign up for Free School Meals using the link below (or hand your completed form into the school office) if you are in receipt of any of the above benefits.  This is because we as a school are given extra money to use as required on the children’s learning, according to the number of parents who register their eligibility.  The fewer people who sign up who are entitled to Free School Meals, the less money we have to use on your child’s education.

If you think you are eligible please log on to register: http://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/free-school-meals or complete a form available from the school office.

Caterlink is our school meal provider.  The cost of a two course meal with additional salad and bread is £2.30 per day (£11.50 per week).  A menu is available from the school office, our school website and is on our Facebook page.
