Physical Education (PE)
We aim to ensure that all children take part in and enjoy appropriate sporting activities, both as part of the curriculum provision and in the lunch time school clubs that are provided.
We encourage the children to both compete with themselves and each other and to co-operate as part of a team. Our annual sports day has a traditional, competitive nature together with a series of activities that all children can enjoy.
The whole school has been doing a daily walk, jog or run around outside to raise fitness levels. We are aiming for the majority of children to be able to walk or run a mile every day by year 6!
Walk to school Wednesday
Every Wednesday each child is recording if they have travelled to school in a green way by walking, cycling or scooting. If they have they are receiving a sticker for their sticker card and once filled will win a certificate. Prizes can be won as well ,prizes include free entry vouchers to attractions, and story time visits by celebrities such as Phil Gallagher, the presenter of CBeebies’ Mister Maker.
All the children in Years 4 and 5 get the opportunity to swim for a 10 week period. The decision for this was made due to the proximity of water for all of the children in the form of the lakes and sea. As a school we aim to improve all children’s swimming ability and water confidence.
